Take your tastebuds on an international trip at The Consulate, a new exotic restaurant and cocktail bar that aims to surprise and inspire patrons with a unique rotating monthly menu that highlights different countries’ cultures.

Inspired by the city’s rich diversity and vibrant mix of world influences, Founder, Metodija Mihajlov, designed the restaurant to take diners on a tasting tour across the globe. An acclaimed East Coast Restaurateur, Mihajlov, has worked in the industry for over eight years opening notable NYC establishments such as Olio e Piu, Dominique’s Bistro, Whynot Coffee and Boucherie. 

Partners Miljan Komnenic and Igor Drca bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in wine and spirits, hospitality and executing incredible food experiences.

Miljan Komnenic highly rated in several World Cocktail Championships. Working in Manhattan's best restaurants he displayed creativity and showmanship while preparing superb drinks and established the image of the bartender as a creative professional

Igor Drca, a certified sommelier, coming from 3 Michelin star restaurant, Le Bernardin, Igor will make sure that service criteria and etiquette are always delivered with excellence and elegance.

Located on the Upper West Side, the restaurant features a French American menu which includes brunch favorites; blueberry cast iron pancakes, classic eggs benedict and beet and gin cured salmon. Dinner features sumptuous short rib cavatelli, perfectly seared steaks, roasted herb chicken and locally sourced seafood dishes such as seared branzino, scallop tartare with crispy shallots, and perfectly prepared octopus and mussels. 

Our executive Chef Alan Vargas originally from Masa a 3 Michelin, 4 NY Time's star restaurant  curates a seasonal menu and daily specials from different regions of the world, to give our costumers a great dinning experience each time they come dine with us.

The light and airy space features hanging plants, buttery leather booths with chic checkerboard flooring is perfect for a romantic date night, birthday party or any other special occasion.

 Animal Policy: Service Animals (dogs) are welcome in all parts of our restaurant. If possible please notify when making the reservation to best accommodate. We welcome all other pets in our outside dining areas. During the colder months we offer a heated and covered area to dine with us. The rest of the year, patio seating is available for guests and pets. ****Pets that are inside a carrier are welcome in all parts of the restaurant but must remain inside the carrier. (I will have to verify with the NYC health department if this is an option) The Consulate does have the right of refusal for all matters with pets within compliance of all NYC Health department regulations and ADA requirements. We ask that all pets behave in a manner that fits a restaurant environment.

The Consulate offers complimentary coat check service for all guests. Furthermore, we do not accept any responsibility for lost or damaged belongings.
